dc.description.abstractEste artículo quiere realizar una comparación de los cambios dinásticos ocurridos en Portugal en 1383/85 y 1580. En ambos casos se extingue la dinastía reinante y el candidato con más derechos dinásticos es el rey de Castilla. En ambas ocasiones se enfrenta a un candidato rival bastardo. A pesar de estas similitudes en 1385 se impone el bastardo mientras en 1580 triunfa el rey castellano haciéndose con el trono portugués. Se comparan los factores más importantes que llevan a dos resultados tan distintos. Tras definir el contexto histórico de ambos escenarios se analizan los grupos de apoyo que tenían los candidatos tanto en 1383 como en 1580. A continuación, se comparan las consecuencias que tenían los cambios dinásticos en cada uno de los casos y finalmente, se analizan los intentos de legitimación y se explica por qué en el caso de 1385 eran mucho más importantes.es_ES
dc.description.abstractThis paper wants to make a comparison of the dynastic changes in Portugal of 1383/85 and 1580. In both cases, the ruling dynasty extinguishes and the candidate with most solid dynastic rights is the King of Castile. In both occasions, he has to face a bastard rival. In spite of these similarities in 1385, the bastard obtains the throne while in 1580 it is the Castilian King, who is victorious. We compare the most important factors, which led to two so different outcomes. After defining the historical context in both scenarios, we analyse the support groups the candidates had in 1383 and 1580. Next, we compare the consequences the dynastic changes had in each case and finally we analyse the intents of legitimation and we explain why these were so more important in the case of 1385.
