| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | Even though since man began to intervene in nature, he has overcome many obstacles imposed by his precariousness, the progressive transhumanist movement has developed in the last three decades. As a counterweight to transhumanism, bioconservatism has also emerged. Both transhumanism and bioconservatism speak of improving the human being, but they agree that not everything that can be called "improvements" has the same ontological and moral status. Even so, the possibility of transhumanism reaching an extropianism or a posthumanism has been raised, which has led scientific discourse to a philosophical plane with great challenges for education. If we consider that educating is transforming by bringing out the best in the human being, we will see the challenges posed by this movement in which technology is capable of overcoming the transformation that any educational system used to date can achieve. Philosophy is important, because the philosophical foundations of this movement have not reached consensus on what human nature is and how far man can transform himself. Hence, we propose to approach the subject from the metaphysical realism of Saint Thomas Aquinas and recover the proposal of Saint Thomas in the consideration of the challenges facing education in this philosophical, scientific and cultural movement. Keywords: Transhumanism, extropianism, post-humanism, bioconservatism, education, nature. | |
