| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | My purpose is to demonstrate how Dante abides by the Church’s teachings on Purgatory, describing it as an ecclesial sphere of purification where souls experience an increasing desire and prepare themselves to see God. What makes this work remarkable is that Dante applies to Purgatory the liturgy learned on earth, convinced that it finally fulfils the task that had begun here and was left incomplete. For this purpose, Dante brings forward the same gestures, prayers, songs and rituals by which the Holy Ghost internally admonishes and influences Christian souls until their feelings agree with that of Christ, the Head of the Body which they are members of.
